Professor Agar’s research aims to improve the support and care for people who are experiencing cognitive and other brain impacts as a result of advanced illness. She is particularly focused on improving interventions to prevent and manage delirium at the end of life, and measure their efficacy and harms through endpoints that are meaningful to people reaching the end of their lives.
In addition Professor Agar is the Director of the IMPACCT research centre, where she lead a team of world-leading interdisciplinary researchers who generate and use scientific evidence to create real-world, measurable change for people living with life limiting illness and their families. She also is the chair of Cancer Symptom trials, the first collaborative trials group internationally to focus on cancer symptom interventions.
