Miles Berger, MD, (Stanford University) and Ben Palanca, MD, PHD, MSCI, (Washington University in St. Louis), are developing assessments to help understand how the aging brain copes with surgical insult and to identify biologic signals that may predict resilience or vulnerability to postoperative neurocognitive disorders.
