Blair Golden, MD, MS is a hospitalist with training in health services research and expertise in patient and family communication. She is a tenure-track faculty member in the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is the recipient of a National Institute on Aging (NIA) K23 Career Development Award examining collaborative identification and prevention of delirium superimposed on dementia (DSD) between family caregivers and clinicians.
Dr. Golden serves as the Director of Academic Development in the Division of Hospital Medicine and as a Director of the University of Wisconsin Acute Care Research Group. She serves on national committees for the Society of Hospital Medicine and Society of General Internal Medicine. She is a prior NIA Butler-Williams Scholar and Journal of Hospital Medicine Editorial Fellow.
Her research focuses on improving patient- and family-centered care delivery for hospitalized older adults. In particular, she is interested in improving family engagement in delirium identification and prevention during hospitalizations for older adults who are at high risk for delirium, including individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
