Dr. Lis Evered is Associate Professor of Neuroscience in Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medicine, in the US, and Associate Professor, Department of Critical Care, University of Melbourne, Australia, maintaining research teams in both NY and Melbourne. She is an Honorary Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, with extensive publications and several leadership appointments on scientific advisory panels, guideline development committees, and medical societies.
Additionally, Dr. Evered is Geriatric Section Editor for Anesthesia & Analgesia and Associate Editor for the British Journal of Anaesthesia. In 2023 and 2024, Dr. Evered was named Top Australian Researcher in Anesthesiology within the annual research report from The Australian, the country’s national newspaper.
Her main area of research interest focuses on untangling perioperative neurocognitive disorders, particularly postoperative delirium and progression to dementia, and uses biomarker and intervention strategies to reduce or prevent these poor outcomes in older individuals.
