Michael Devinney, MD, PhD recently received the 2024 Silverstein Memorial Award for Emerging Investigators in the Surgical and Related Medical Specialties. According to AGS, this award recognizes emerging researchers across health care who are committed to careers in aging.
AGS President Donna Fick says, “Dr. Devinney is a passionate advocate for improving the care of older patients. Driven by a desire to understand the underlying mechanisms causing delirium, his work showcases a commitment to enhancing postoperative care and prevention of cognitive impairment.”
Dr. Devinney is a Board certified in anesthesiology and an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Duke University Medical School. In addition, he is a 2017 NIDUS Boot Camp alum.
